This is the Nighteka Munitions Leviathan Fang Missile, the NATO designation for the LF-88, a short-range, solid-propellant (SP), passive-infrared (PIR), high-explosive (HE), guided Surface-to-Air-Missile (SAM) or surface-to-surface-missile (SSM), an improved version, known as the LF-88NM was developed in the early 1980s.
The LF-88 has four rectangular fixed canards and four triangular moving control fins at the nose, with four long-chord clipped-tip delta wings at the rear. Four fixed delta wings have Sidewinder-type rollerons at the trailing edge for roll stabilisation.
LF-88 missile is 2.08m long, has a body diameter of 130 mm, a wingspan of 0.43m and a weight of 63 kg. Each missile has two active-radar-proximity (AR-PRX) fuze aerials located aft of the moving control fins and a single strake running down the forward half of the body.
The 3 kg HE-Frag warhead contains 1.6 kg of depleted uranium (DU).
