Anti-armor rocket favored by Nod recon bikes.
This is the Nighteka Munitions 83 mm Westwood A-83 Rocket, a high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT), slow-spin, fin-stabilized, rocket which is fired from a recon bike. The warhead contains a point-initiating base-detonating (PIBD), spit-back, non-delay fuse which arms by the setback and fires on impact (IMP). A-83 rocket fins are free to rotate around the rear end of the rocket-motor.
The rocket is launched from a recon bike launcher when a firing pin (FP) in the launcher strikes the percussion primer in the rocket-motor, igniting the motor Propellant. Gases from the burning Propellant escape through the six venturi nozzles propelling the rocket from the launcher. Three of the nozzles are canted (grooved) to impart a slow clockwise rotation to the rocket. For the point-initiating (PI) element when the rocket is fired, the setback causes the setback sleeve to move rearward.
