Tragically, Cruz's life was cut short when he was killed by an assassin, but his legacy lives on through the countless lives he transformed and the future leaders he helped shape.

Cruz was pulling guard duty with Medtank Otobong near a tiberium field when a mysterious crate appeared, Cruz let Medtank Otobong take it in the hope of an upgrade but was instead greeted with a cat that drew Oengus attention.

Later on Cruz was put in charge of training new recruits that changed sides during the assault on Research Base 03. During this training exercise each member was systemically taken out by Chuck. Cruz was the second to fall to the Viktorian mercenary.
